Dung litters the campsite where the goats spend each night. The Changpa rely upon these animals for nearly every facet of their existence- they drink their milk, eat their meat, and burn their droppings as fire fuel. With no trees and little water, the Ladakh region provides little resource or refuge, and the dwindling populations of Pashmina goats are the lifeblood of their caretakers.
